Launch in Time (Canoeing) – 3rd & 5th December 2018

As it is finally getting warmer again you are all invited to try Canoeing. Cubs canoeing will have a chance to earn a paddling badge.

We will be meeting at The Elbow in Australind which is on the river at the end of Eastwell Road.

As with all scout activities covered in shoes are essential. Reef walkers or water shoes are fine if the toes are enclosed.

SHOES WILL GET WET

Carey Park Activity shirt and shorts or leggings are also required (Scarves not required). Mossies will be there in force so insect deterrent is strongly advised. A towel will also be advisable, most cubs end up completely wet. There are toilets at The Elbow if cubs need to change out of wet clothes before travelling home.

All people on the Canoes will be wearing Personal Flotation Devices so being a strong swimmer is not necessary.

Bring towel, insect repellent and covered in shoes. Also change of clothes.

PLEASE NOTE. Cubs who do not have covered in shoes or wish to wear a (provided) PFD WILL NOT be able to participate. We will not have spare shoes.

Date: North Pack – Monday 3rd December; South Pack – Wednesday 5th December

Time: 5.30pm-7pm.

Cost: Free

RSVP: Online via Care Monkey (Preferable), or by completion of attached Y3 (Bring with you). If you can not do either of these, there will be some Y3s available on the day. Please come early to complete as we do not want to hold up the activity.
